A fourth-generation Nashvillian, Matt grew up near Overton High School, graduated from Overton in 1976, and earned his law degree from the University of Tennessee. He then spent nearly four decades practicing real estate and land use law — the exact expertise Oak Hill needs on its City Council.
Matt and his wife Paula have called Oak Hill home for almost 30 years. They raised their three sons here and are now proud grandparents of five. This community isn't just where Matt works — it's where his family has built its life.

Protect roads and infrastructure Balance building financial reserves with real investment in our roads, and ensure developers fully reimburse the city for construction damage.
Preserve Oak Hill's character Resist commercial development, enforce our tree ordinance, and update our zoning code proactively to stay ahead of trends inconsistent with Oak Hill's heritage.
Strengthen the Metro Nashville partnership Maintain clear, constant communication with Metro to maximize revenues returned to Oak Hill residents.
Support our city staff Give Oak Hill's excellent City Manager and team the resources to enforce our regulations and remain responsive to residents.
